Helen & Willie called me from Ontario to book a family session. At first I was confused, looking again mid conversation at the number showing up on my phone, wondering if it was a gag. Then she clarified that her adult children all live in Saskatchewan, and the entire extended family would be gathering for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. (“Ohhhhhkayyyyyyyy. Yes, let’s do this.”)
All of their children and grandchildren met on a Saturday morning at her daughter Sharon & Vince’s gorgeous yard down Moose Plains Road. The house, still under construction, is a treat to the eyes....
Fun loving couple, Jeremy and Jessica, from Nipawin Saskatchewan came to me for a late summer couple's session.
Jessica requested that we not spend the entire shoot on romantic or cutesy poses, because their fun loving relationship is more about teasing each other, making each other laugh. So that's what we did. (My face actually hurt from laughing with them!)
We started off the session in the forest and field behind my studio. Jeremy came across as a shy guy at first, but his outgoing personality emerged once he felt more comfortable in front of the camera. I imagine him as...
Meet Brianna, a Tisdale SK graduate. She contacted me in the early spring, “because you are the best photographer in the area, and you seem like a nice person.”
*Can you hear my heartstrings being pulled?*
She’s a sporty girl, who loves volleyball and country music.
Brianna and I chatted extensively about her graduation session. After months of getting to know each other via Snapchat, we finally met up for her photoshoot in July. We met up at a park in the middle of Tisdale, and started her photoshoot among sounds of children laughing, vehicles passing through town, and wind...
Katelyn and Danielle are two cutie little peanuts who are best friends, living in Saskatoon.
They met a year ago at Sask Polytech; they’re both attending the Pharmacy Technician course. They love to watch Joe Santagatos You Tube videos together and laugh hysterically.
Danielle is passionate about photography and animals. If she weren’t studying to be a Pharmacy Tech, she’d have been a veterinarian. Above all else, she values honesty and friendship. Katelyn is the type to always lend a helping hand. She puts her friends first, knowing that they’d do the same for her. She and Danielle...
Karly is the kind of girl who embodies femininity and grace. Let's check out her graduation session.
Without needing much coaching at all, she intuitively flowed from one pose to the next. In tune with her body, able to feel the types of poses that most flatter. Perhaps this can be credited to her dancing experience.
Whatever it is, it’s lovely. Look at her confidence! She totally glows.

Grandparents Gord and Susan were quick to introduce themselves and shake my hand. I then realized I didn’t, myself,...
Smart business owners recognize the value of professional product photography. Enter Jeanette and Megan; sisters and business partners who handcraft modest dresses in the local area, and sell online across Canada.
For our first several product photography sessions, Megan came to my studio (Jeanette lives in Manitoba) with a basket full of dresses to model. We posed and perfected the shots, which I then edited into PNG images for their e-commerce site www.wearadress.com
A few sessions down the line, Megan and Jeanette commissioned me for another style of product photography. We signed up three...
Here’s a little something about me:
I. Love. Solitude.
I love being alone, free to do things in any way that strikes me that day. Not having to worry about someone else's schedule, someone else's needs in that moment. Not having to compromise on what music to listen to. Being free to sleep when I want, eat when I want, be naked, drink too much coffee, be hyper and weird, sing at the top of my lungs (even if it's off-key), or speak in accents just for kicks.
I don't like having to ask permission, to curb my needs, or to apologize for taking care of myself in whatever strange...
This is Amanda, and this is her THIRD session with me! Once, for family photos, and twice now for headshot and product imagery.
Her stress-management centre – The Rae Centre – is open for business in Nipawin, SK. In the facility, you’ll find energy healers, a conference area, quiet rooms for relaxation, and retail space.
Amanda herself offers an array of healing services:
Reiki Energy Healing
Distance Energy Healing
Essential Oil Consultations
This is Laura and Roy, a couple from Nipawin. They needed some photos for a family function across the country that they’re not able to attend.
Not huge fans of photo sessions, they wanted an in-and-out photoshoot. We met up at Roy’s favourite place; the Evergreen Golf Course, and had some fun on the putting green.
All in all, our session was short and sweet; 9 minutes from hello to goodbye. That’s got to be some kind of record!
Have you got some kind words for Roy and Laura? Please comment below.
It was a foggy Saturday morning last fall. My fur baby and I were lounging about the house, when I decided to make a coffee run. It was then that I noticed just how incredibly thick the wall of fog was. You could hardly see to the end of a short town block!
The drive home from A&W, hot coffee in hand, was a blur. All I could think about was getting back home so that I could film a model request video and post online, before the fog had a chance to lift. If I had any other thoughts during the truck ride home, I don’t remember them.
Within one (yes, ONE) minute, Katelyn...
